Description
This album contains original drawings, engravings, woodcuts, photographs, and chromolithographed cut outs of interior decoration, possibly clipped from trade catalogs. Items are arranged as the layout of a room and pasted to the scrapbook pages. Also included are scraps of wallpaper and fabric used as decoration. Each of the 23 pages depicts a different room scene, presumably from the same house (real or fictitious). Names of the rooms are designated on the back of each page and an architectural drawing of one room's construction is laid in. Rooms portrayed include three parlors, four chambers, a picture gallery, dance hall, gents' salon, sewing room, nursery, dressing room, kitchen, china closet, reception room, dining room, tea room, sitting room, drawing room, library, and a music room, among others.
