Description
An anonymous Victorian album of collage interiors featuring period engravings of furnishings, wall paper samples, and clippings from trade catalogs of oak and rattan furniture. A variety of rooms is recreated on pages that fold out from the volume, including: parlors, bedrooms, a dining room, a kitchen, a hall, a library, and day nurseries. Cutouts are pasted on a wallpaper background. In several rooms, engravings making up part of a Hoods Sarsaparella ad were used as paintings on the wall. There is also a page of clippings of potted plants. Unused clippings are laid in the front and back of the volume with a few extra sheets of wall paper, pencil sketches of women's dresses, and other miscellaneous items. Three Advent calendars with Christmas scenes published in West Germany are also laid in the volume.
