- Description
- Composed of wallpaper samples and clippings of furniture and house furnishings arranged to represent 17 room interiors in an 1870s home. The rooms recreated include: Beatrice's boudoir, cellar, pink and blue bedrooms, nursery, breakfast room, dining room, sitting room, front and back parlors, library, children's bedroom, drawing room, smoking room or gentleman's boudoir, and sewing room. The following rooms are missing from the album: conservatory, reception room, music room, and summer kitchen. Also, there is a label for a bathroom, but the opposite page shows kitchen objects, rather than bathroom things. Nothing is known about who made this album. The attribution of the liquor and beer saloon keepers to Worcester, Mass., was based on the mention of Quinsigamond Village, and then double-checking names and addresses on the list against the 1872 Worcester city directory.
