- Description
- Consists of photographs of the exterior of the Colburn house, interior shots that show rooms filled with paintings and sculptures, closeups of two paintings created by Helen F. Colburn, family members (Arthur, his father Rollinson, and his sister), and the landscape surrounding the house that shows a creek and wooded area. Arthur R. Colburn, the owner, was an attorney in Washington, D.C. He and his family resided on Carroll Ave. in Takoma Park, Maryland. One of his relatives (perhaps a sister) was Helen F. Colburn, listed as an artist in the Washington, D.C., area between 1890 and 1930. Arthur Colburn was a lawyer, mathematician, an inventor (he was issued several patents), and a spiritual medium. (He claimed to have received messages from some of the Titanic passengers.) Arthur's mother and sister were artists, as well as his aunt Frances Brundage. The album was made by The Heinn Specialty Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
