- Marsh recorded his observations of his three week visit to the Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1876. Marsh titled his sections: The Grounds, The Buildings, Main Building, Machinery Hall, Memorial Hall, Agricultural Hall, Horticultural Hall, United States Government Building, Woman's Pavillion, Kansas and Colorado Building, and New England Kitchen, followed by a section describing the shoe and leather exhibition building, the glassware manufactory, the camp of the West Point cadets, the Japanese dwelling and bazaar, the relief plan of Paris, the hunter's camp, and the Swedish schol house./nMarsh lived in Brandon, Vermont./nThese memoirs are penned on blank pages in an album published for that purpose by J. H. Coates & Co. of Philadelphia. The album contains 8 color lithographs
