- Exterior, in color Opposite Valley Forge; both American and British forces occupied it in September 1777. Rather decayed by 1840s when William Wetherill had it torn down and rebuilt in a more elaborate style on its original foundation. Caption: Montgomery Co., PA. Fatland opposite Valley Forge. Built by James Vaux 1776 but torn down & rebt. same style 1845.
