- Description
- Consists of 685 small numbered swatches of variously colored worsteds. Titles are written in English, including brocd. callimancoes, fine single cambletts, cheque camlettes, battavias, flower'd taboratts, and fine lastings. Includes two sheets giving prices and notes that the patterns were sent to: D. Callaghan, chez Louis Preiswerk a Bale (1794); Mr. Collins (1794); Messrs. Wm. Fox and Sons, Cheapside, London (1795); and Nethropp & Harris, Copenhagen (1797). William Fox & Son were wholesale linen-drapers located at 136 Cheapside, London. Inside original front cover is bookplate of the Library of the School, Pennsylvania Museum and School of Industrial Art, the previous owner.
