- Description
- Trowbridge used the blank pages in the back of the 1706 Clough's Almanac to record weaving patterns and instructions. Patterns mentioned include shallon, drugget, and "the new fashion stuff." Also included are a family genealogy listing his children and slaves, and some poetry dated 1753 that appears in a different hand. The remainder of the volume was used to record the inventory of belongings of both Mary [Trowbridge] Coolidge and Huldah Trowbridge, upon their marriages. Textile items mentioned in the inventories include bolsters, pillows, coverlids, quilts, blankets, curtains, cotton and linen sheets, and napkins. Various pots and pans, pewter platters, and a variety of furniture are also mentioned. Born November 19, 1684, the son of Margaret Jackson and James Trowbridge. He married twice, first to Sarah Ward and then to Sarah Fulham. He served as a captain in the local militia, a church deacon, and other civic offices.
