    Textile Collections

Textile collections in the Winterthur Library provide insight into the manufacturing, distribution, and use of fabrics in dress, furnishings, and industry. These collections include salesmen's sample books; records of the dyeing process and the use of natural and chemical dyes; pattern books and instructional manuals for knitting, weaving, and embroidery; and diaries and scrapbooks documenting sewing skills and clothing made by women and children.
