Wallpaper Samples
Wallpaper in the Winterthur Library collection represents a wide range of techniques, colors, and histories. Many are block printed, while others are roller printed and represent a span of paper history from coarse laid sheets to smooth machine-made wove paper. The samples are found as scraps, some documenting interiors, and as covers in account books, personal notebooks, and copybooks. They range from circa 1740 to the mid 1900s.
